Our cairn acts the same way. Cute! He hates cats though and goes crazy when he sees a stray. He also tries to attack passing cars! He weighs about 20 lbs but acts like he's a lion!

My dog Abby does the same thing when someone rings the door bell, she goes absolutely crazy during thunder storms, this breed is crazy but so darn cute :)

I have a Cairn named Rocky (cheesy name eh?) he's 11 years old and sometimes has the energy like he's 6 I love these dogs

Cairn terriers are very barky at people who ring the doorbell or walk in front of your window. Mine is very friendly to people on the street when I'm walking him on the leash. And once a guest is in the house and everyone relaxes, he is very nice to them. Cairns and Westies probably have the same personality and health. Cairns like to kind of be the boss. They don't take orders too quickly. Sometimes I have to tell him to "come here" about 10 times before he will do it!
