Firestorm! He was one of the better players. I used to work at the BattleTech Center, in Chicago. We had composite video out on each pod. I imagine someone just hooked up a VCR to one of them, and more recently digitized the tape. From the warning klaxons, I can tell they were playing with heat. System 1 was so glitchy that often the additional computing power of tracking heat (or maybe it was the additional bandwidth on the network - it was Coax Arcnet, BTW) would crash the entire game.

Holy shit this is so old school. My dad took me to try this out in Chicago when I was 7. Man, I had no idea what the hell was going on but I just knew it was fucking awesome.
My dad was really into Mechwarrior and all that nerdy stuff.

Well...you;ve got to figure in that this was before it was convienent to tap directly into the feeds for each pod. This was probably shot with a VSH camera inside the pod.

Man, is this Battletech or Atari's Battlezone. Can't make much out. The other vids (3.0 and up) are much better.

This is System 1 from 1990. The first Generation system was Sprite based. All of the following versions were Polygon. It is indeed BattleTech.
