@00iam Yes, you are quite right. Mad people can have very sensible ideas too. . Can you, 00iam, work out where the gold is today? . Let me know, I have a shovel (and a handgun), we could get it together ! . . Cheers. from, del-boy

@barkulator Dear bark-up-wrong-tree.,
To only have so-called real people and not actors, universally, for this type of presentation would dramatically limit the opportunity for study of the sick and disabled; which would also mean that experience could only be gained from studying one's own family and friends, which in the case of your studies, would mean that students were not able to extrapolate to the remainder of the Real world, everyone else.

Read more books.

Well, if he saw his buddy after all this time outside the bank, I should think he'd be onto the buddy about the missing half-share of the buried gold. . He needs to realilse that the map with the directions which he'd been given half of, all those years ago, was just a device to trick him; the army buddy had memorised what was on the given map-half and it never dawned on this patient that he'd been tricked, big-time ages ago. . No "legal" claim, now, on any monies. . . Cheers. from, del-boy.
You should only use real people, not actors for this stuff. Real is real. If you can't get permission from real patients, you need to wait until you can find someone. Acting is just good acting. You've shown us good acting.

@barkulator As an educational tool there is good validity and research evidence around using simulated patients. It also addresses the consent and capacity issues inherent in showing mental illness. Not every eventuality can be foreseen and consented for.
