Did you hire a lawyer to represent you?

gotta love it.. the debt collector can record but when the person they call does it click!!!
-
"the burden of proof is on you" LOL what nerve! You can't prove a negative! I LOVE dealing with these idiots-- yet I feel so sorry for those who do not know their rights!

I've had that same problem trying to get them to either send me a physical address to send a certified letter, or get them to tell me the full name of the individual I am speaking to. -They know they can't enforce a third party debt collection, and they try to dodge the legal course when you ask them.

@JuantheBrazilian techincally not true.
They are entitled to ask for the money so it isnt fraud. But they just cant sue. ( well they can sue but then you claim statue of limitation)
But simply asking for the money isnt fraud

I work as a debt collector at a law firm, there are physical lawyers in the office that file lawsuits and I am very honest with debters and disclose our 800 number, physical address to send letters, PO Box to send payments and we even allow physical dropoffs of payments to the office so people can come directly in to the building. Our office is very professional and the people are awesome

You should file a claim against them. Sue then for fraud and an attempt to collect a debt which you are not entitled to pay. Fight back HARD. I'm with you bro!

Yo Lefty!
Where you been man? Lost you on XBL!
Don't get stressed over these jokers. They tried it on me over here in the UK once, but they had the wrong guy, as they only had a name that sounded similar to mine. Even then, they asked for my details!
They just look for easy targets, so I'm sure that they won't be bothering you any more...

Good luck man :) btw, remember me? :)
Yup. faxed a dispute letter and will mail cert tomorrow. I was actually trying to get them to disclose what state they were calling from.
Regardless they have yet to validate the debt and doubt they ever will.
