Have you read the datasheet of your RGB LED ?? usualy red, green and blue LEDs DO NOT HAVE THE SAME Voltage and current specs!! So if driven by same voltage (say 5V) you need DIFFERENT RESISTORS for each color!! There "may" be LEDs out there who meanwhile require all the same voltage and current. BUT its a good thing to Check this first!! ELSE your effect can happen, that different colors send out different amount of light density. Just my two cents. However A COOL PROJECT !!

If I only knew how to solder.... Oh, and there is no radioshack in europe, at least not in my country.

this "physical programming" stuff is exciting... especially now that it's accessible without writing assembly code. I ordered the newest Arduino today... woohoo!

nice project :)

what is the software you are using??
why do those things cost $100!?!?!

The real Ambient Orbs cost so much because they're made really well and are hooked into the pager network so they can get updates no matter where they are (no configuration needed). Many people like not having to set stuff up.

If you want to make a DIY version, google for "Arduino Ambient Orb". It'll take you maybe an afternoon to do and you'll get to learn about building your own hardware too.
