-continued- USA did not have the political will to suffer heavy casualties and Israel does not have the population to absorb casualties in the tens of thousands. Muslims would win a protracted war of attrition.
Big Problem... Israel will use their nuclear weapons before ever being occupied by Muslim forces.
A better option to war is to recognize Israel. Peace could prevail if it's neighbors would simply accept the current borders. Stubborness reigns on both sides...

In head to head combat the Israelis will defeat their enemies every time. The Muslims can defeat Israel if they fight a high intensity war of attrition. Israel does not have the population or the resources to fight a protracted war. Arab forces can afford to take casualties of 10 to 1 like the North Vietnamese did with the USA.

@bdienstag I think that Johnson well knew and approved Israel policy but as a US leader he had to show the American perspective. Obama is ready to sell Israel for Arabian oil.
