@40390576 Imho, the Brits make the best documentaries in the world generally. This was made by Channel Four in the UK in 1996.
-
I can imagine in a thick British accent:
"To Mrs. Anne Burns, I award you a pair of chrome steel testicles to take the place of the ones you not doubt deserved at birth."
-
@TheMightyHartley Even the women. Balls of Steel.
-
The crew and scientists who went up on that flight not knowing whether it would break up in flight or not had balls of steel. A slim chance admittedly, but nevertheless......Jesus.
-
To allow the Comet fly again without first determining the case of the Yoke-Peter accident was a criminal act as far as Im concerned and one that was to be repeated by McDonald Douglass some years later with the DC 10, and in that case with the full complicity of the FAA

haha its great isn't it! how the UK has changed in a short time. great video

I love all the "proper" British accents here. "Automatically" pronounced "Orter-METI-cerleh" at 4:20. Very interesting to see the early investigations into the problems with the first ever jets. Thanks for posting!

I believe comet Yoke Peter has had most of the wreckage salvaged and partially reconstructed to help train investigators
That water tank test to test pressurization cycles was ingenious.
