Final Fantasy 12 - Boss 26, Doctor Cid & Famfrit

After defeating Gabranth, Dr Cid shows up and relieves Gabranth of his duties. Cid then tries to persuade Ashe to use the Treaty Blade because the Sun Cryst contains Mist and such a precious thing must not be wasted. Cid then orders Venat to release the Mist trapped in the Sun Cryst to awaken 'Bahamut'. Baltheir, realising his father has completely lost it decides to put an end to Cid's madness and the battle follows. After Cid loses 50% of his HP he will summon Famfrit and then become immune to all damage until Famfrit is defeated. Once Famfrit is out of the picture Cid can then be attacked again. 82,093HP for Dr Cid and 149,060HP for Famfrit. Thanks for watching.

How did you beat this so quickly? I got stuck on this about a year ago and haven't played since. I really want to start playing again as this is my favorite game but I just keep dying. You don't even use any quickenings or espers. I watched your video and it seems that as soon as Famfrit appears you turn your attention to him and don't worry about Dr.Cid. So do I just go for Famfrit first then get Cid after Famfrit falls? Is it that simple? What level is your party?

@downtuned4life My characters were about Level 70 for this fight. As for attacking Famfrit, notice how I manually moved each character closer to Famfrit than Cid so that the gambit Attack nearest foe would mean I hit Famfrit. this is because when Famfrit appears Cid becomes immune to damage until Famfrit is defeated. After Famfrit falls resume your attack on Cid. I used the Negalmuur trick to level up but the second ascent is also a good leveling up spot. Hope this helps.

Actually passed this yesterday before you responded. I used a different tactic, which was quite strange but worked well for my party. First of all, my party is level 48 to 50. I set the Gambit to attack foe with highest MP (which is Famfrit) and used my healer (Penelo) to cast Arise whenever someone went down - which happened a lot! Level 48 goes down almost immediately. So I basically fought them with only three characters using malee attacks. Love this game!!! Off to to the Bahamut Kupo!!!
