@Thikron Alessandro Moreschi is not a good example becouse he was rather older and he was not bellcanto singer, not very good. Better example are natural castrati like Michael Maniachi, Radu Marian and some contretenors with unusuall soprano "falsetto" voice mixed with modal voice in lower register like Dariusz Paradowski.

@VVitullo Yes - this isn't a castrato. This is a 'countertenor' - an uncastrated adult male who uses his vocal folds in a special way called 'falsetto' to produce these high notes. If you want to hear a recording of a castrato, do a search for 'Alessandro Moreschi'.

@regaldrifter : Dear, this kind of voice is called castrati because on that time, they used to castrate child with this beautiful voice in order not to loose it when they get older. Take a look in a musical dictionary and you will have more info. Enjoy. It is really beautiful.
