Two reeds in the wind - a single thread

Playing around with the natural harmonics of the Tuvan igil, 50 parallel strands of nylon on the high string and 90 strands on the low string give the instrument a wide palette of natural harmonics. My playing is not at all like the igil playing in heard in traditional Tuvan music used to accompany their throat singing, check out Tuvan bands like Huun Huur Tu and Chirgilchin to get a taste of what the instrument sounds like in its traditional setting as well as a very unique style of music and singing.

@musicman9901 You could go to khoomei (dot) com They don;t sell them there, but they have a forum for Throat-Singing and a section about instruments, and some folks might be able to help, some have made their own as well, hope that helps a little :)

Thanks! I managed to get one lesson from the maker of the instrument a couple years ago, and had been playing for about a year before that, so mostly from watching a couple videos from some of the masters and lots of practice
