(As of 7-14 through 11-11-08) For people that have problems with grainy uploaded videos. This is one method to help with that. This tutorial shows how to render as a WMV. Pause the video as needed to view things. This method will almost always give you the "View in higher quality" option in Firefox browser unless you make a slideshow or YouTube is doing an update when you upload. Then it just depends on your bit rate. The transitions are there just to get the bit rate up enought to get the HQ option for this video. Hence the "slideshow" comment. If you need more help leave a comment and I'll get back to you quickly. YouTube has taken the HQ option away from Internet Explorer temporarily. It will be back soon. Make sure your playback settings in your account settings are set for "Always view in HQ". Then you'll see the HQ version by default.

  • Wooo

that's great man, I do everything right but when rendering after 50% .

There is a bug and vegas shut down itself.

I suposed I need a codec but which one...

  • I found that using Sony Vegas (any version including Movie Studio) with Vista produces disaster. I could never render a video that would upload properly on YouTube. If it ever did upload the sound snyc will be 5 seconds behind. I suggest using XP.

  • Whenever i do render, it only renders about 1:32 of my 6:00 video, am i doing somthing wrong?

  • Just from what you said, I'm guess that you're not dragging the little yellow flag to cover the whole video explained at 1:12 of the video.

  • This tutorial is very out dated. I'm not sure what the result will be using this method now. The best way to upload is using 720p if your camcorder films a minimum of that resolution. Along with that, there's a step prior to dropping in the tracks to get rid of the inevitable letterboxing. Maybe another tutorial is needed.

  • how come when you picked the 3 megabytes/secons after it said default template? please reply!

  • Because I did this in stages just to make the video. It won't read default when you do it.

  • i followed your instructions to the letter, except im on windows media v11 now, 9 isn't an option, final file size after rendering is 120mb, but this is just for barely over 2 minutes in length =s i don't think i can follow this for a full 10 or 15 minute clip, any more instructions would be appreciated, thanks
