Civilization IV Video Review at IGN

IGN's Dan Adams talks about the various improvements and new ideas that made Civilization IV a great addition to the franchise. IGN rated the game 9.4 out of 10 and called it the "best version of Civilization yet."

@999Claymore havent played age of empires 3, but if you're willing to put in the time to learn this game, it can pay of EXCEPTIONALLY well.

Better yet, buy civ 5 from steam. Its on sale this weekend until monday at 10 am.

I'm JUST getting my head around this game, and ive been playing civ for about a month now...and i'm a longtime strategy game player. It's a steep learning curve, but it pays off really well. Definately this game, or 5 like i said.

@The2Brownie civ 4 you can force your civ religion on places you concurred in civ 5 you can't. civ 5 has better graphics than civ 4 and is slightly user friendly controls. but civ 4 got way better reviews than civ 5 on gamestop.com

Sad to say, though Civ 5 had minor improvements such as transport carriers are no longer needed, I feel Civ 4 provided more realism. Other rulers reacted to your religion; you had culture bombs that were actually useful in slowly encroaching and ultimately consuming neighboring cities. The most unrealistic aspect of Civ 5 was gold. How the hell can you buy buildings out of nowhere? I bought a nuke.... where the fuck do I buy a nuke in the real world? From rogue terrorists? .....

well i know Civ 5 is an amazing game and i loved it when i had a pc but recently i switched to Mac for work purposes but civ 4 ive heard a lot about, its also half as expensive. whats the real difference? what does it boil down to? thanks!

Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri was so much better. Yes, I said it. 10 years later and they have gotten worse. Although Alpha Centauri was amazing, same with Pirates. Some things on Civ4 are just surreal.

@Clone683 whats the point of real time battles? civ is all about turns, dummy. but perhaps age of wars is for u, there are plenty of real time games. starcraft?
