This is a galician song called María Soliño and the lyrics are a poem by the galician writer Celso Emilio Ferreiro. It tells the story of woman condemned by the Inquisicion when the "judges" take this woman by a witch (certainly they wanted her lands).
The composer, I think he's Xavier García and he composed this tem in the later sixties when galician language was prosecuted, like now.

preciosa versión al piano.
incluso sin flauta sigue sonando completamente celta con esa cadencia y esas notas intercaladas.
enhorabuena.

I play this tune on my Irish Tin Whistle. From what I know it is a Galician song. All about a woman who's husband is kidnapped by berber pirates and she is alone , longing for him. Supposedly translates into Maria alone.

In fact, Galego and Portuguese are two different languages, with a common root the medieval Galegoportugués

are there lyrics to this song? I'm a singer and this would fit my voice perfectly! Plus, it's just a beautiful song. Great interpretation. It would be a really pretty flute/piano duet as well. :) I really enjoyed it very, very much. Thanks for posting this!
Get more songs on. That was excellent =]
