Fairy falls represents one of the most severely burnt (publicly visited) areas of the Yellowstone 1988 Fire; after twenty-two years the falls are still surrounded by the tall ghosts of charred pine trees. Regardless of its burn scars, Fairy Falls can maintain its claim as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in YNP. You can access the falls from either the Fairy Falls Trailhead located at the steel bridge north of Midway Geyser Basin, or through the Sentinel Meadows or Fairy Creek trailheads accessible via the Fountain Flat Drive parking lot at the north end of the Lower Geyser Basin.

  • We were there the summer before the fire. It was painful to watch it on the news. It's such a beautiful place.
