it also currently lets you re-roll sam turrets and the sentry guns - but i can see that changing in the future as you potentially have 3 gunships/dogs on a 3/4/5 killstreak setup with hardline pro

Good to see you back buddy. When you get hardline pro set your care packages as Sam turret, care package and sentry gun. You can then change any or all of these for something else. It's a kill streak bonanza!
