In this video we will explore how you can get far higher with a harmonious and relatively balanced lifestyle than with frying yourself through exogenous over stimulation through drugs. Also we will look at how this process actually works from a common sense and bio-physical point of view.
Outline:
magic, synchronicity, cosmic consciousness, and other psychic phenomena are associated with and symptoms of higher consciousness. these things also make life mysterious, alive, and exciting. hence many chase these states of consciousness, but the common paths to reach this actually in the long run tend to do more harm than good.
illustration:
very much akin to the phenomena of lottery winners often ending up worse off than before they won the lottery. what we mean is that they didn't work for the money, they were just given it quickly and abruptly, hence they had no real foundation or understanding on how to value it and use it, so they end up worse off than before they started. same process here, rather than putting in hours everyday through consciousness focus, a person spends a few hours or so, experiences certain states and believes themselves to be have made some sort of progress. yet generally they don't value the information received or know what to do with it, so all of the terms like such burned out, fried, spaced out, toasted, ripped, torn down, and ungrounded all come into play. these aren't just fun terms, they are actual and literal descriptions of what is happening to the nervous system.
lets say you build a house and throw in some electrical wiring, but you leave out the insulation and protection the there are wires exposed and on top of that, you don't ground it. from there you turn on the electricity and run the system at full capacity. obviously it might work for a second or two, but there will be trouble.
on the other hand, you take a bit more time, do more focused work to build the house, put in the wiring and make sure the system is insulated, protected, and grounded. yes, it takes a bit more time and resources, and the results are the system will work much better and for much longer.
drugs basically ramp up the nervous system and the endocrine system to stimulate a peak experience. this is usually results in an energy loss somewhere in the system. we could equate this to leaking jing and chi. jing would be the hormonal essence and chi would be the energy of the nervous system. common sense tells us this is not sustainable and will instantly and/or eventually have side effects.
intelligent practices like tai chi, bagua, various chi gong method, and mediation affect the nervous system in quite a few positive ways. first they help to relieve tension and blocked energy in the system. this leads to better flow and performance. secondly they start to actually strengthen and build the nervous system so that it can handle more energy. thirdly, through relaxation, focus, and concentration we learn how to govern the nervous system and focus our mind. this creates internal peaces and emptiness, which attracts higher consciousness, intuition, and nutritive energy. these actions play off of each other over the long term leading to continually higher states of consciousness and balance.
"Psychedelic experience is only a glimpse of genuine mystical insight, but a glimpse which can be matured and deepened by the various ways of meditation in which drugs are no longer necessary or useful. If you get the message, hang up the phone. For psychedelic drugs are simply instruments, like microscopes, telescopes, and telephones. The biologist does not sit with eye permanently glued to the microscope, he goes away and works on what he has seen.."

I liked your vid, and agreed with most of the things you said. I'm curious however on your opinion of substances like ayahuasca that have legitimate shamanic traditions and are known to be powerful healers (also completely natural). I'd consider myself a psychadelic advocate.. but I think that moderation and balance is most important.
peace :)

@99katekate yes, i think those substances are amazing and healing. the key thing is the legit shamanic tradition and respecting that.
