Ex-Southern Railway consolidation #630 on her second weekend of operation at the Tennessee Valley Railway Museum. It was a warm, sunny, and slightly breezy day, and filming conditions could not have been more ideal. The 1904 Alco is likely one of the best looking steamers on the eastern USA and puts on a good show along the 6-mile run from Grand Junction to East Chattanooga. And, naturally, TNtrainboy15 was there also and decided to step in front of my camera. Again.

  • Excellent job! That's a truly gorgeous engine!

  • Wish we could have met at Little River Railroad man! -Drayton

  • @modeltrainman12345 after 4501 restoration complete then her turn.

  • @canadahistory Uh I heard she was in for her 15 year but I could be mistaken

  • @cerebralfish1 Missionary Ridge Locals are 6 mile roundtrips from the "main" station to a shop complex (complete with turntable). It's a full railroad in miniature! Several operate daily. However, if you are looking for a long trip with 630 there are several 100 mile round trip Fall Specials to Summerville, Georgia and return. All steam, all the way! They operate each Saturday from October 8th-November 5th.

  • @TNtrainboy15 So you can only go on a 6 mile ride on this train? I'm going to get my Dad tickets on a train and this looks like a nice one but 6 miles isnt much. I'm weighing the hiwassee rail adventures half to full day tours(they dont appear to be steam engines) and a shorter ride on what appears to be a cooler train in this 630.
