The words and music to this song were written and composed by Mr. Jimmy Work, who was the author of three Country Music classics -- "Tennessee Border" (1948), "Making Believe" (a simultaneous hit for both him and Kitty Wells in March of 1955) and "That's What Makes The Juke Box Play" (1955) -Using a steel guitar (Carter), a bass and an acoustic guitar, I have tried to produce an acceptable version of Mr. Work's song. I found the song difficult to adapt to the few instruments at my disposal, but I hope that some of the listeners will find the effort worth the while. As always, comments will be welcome and I shall make a point of thanking you for your time. My thanks go to my friend and fellow steel guitar player, Mr Fred Mabrut, who was kind enough to lend his skill as a recording engineer to mix the tracks. The photographs are mostly of Tennessee, although the song does not say in which one of the eight surrounding states the story took place. It is also my pleasure and duty to thank the French lady who allowed me to use her photograph to epitomize the heroine in the song.
It did take a little time and I am very grateful to Mary-Lou who accepted to allow her photograph to be used; the smile gets the whole thing off to a good start, I thinK.

Dear C.W.
I was lucky to get the permission of the Mademoiselle at the beginning! Mind you I did not ask Myrna Loy's permission; I couldn' t find her! Thanks for the encouragement.
Tim.

Ah, but it's not nearly as good as Autumn Leaves. It just takes so long to put it all together.
