Babelshot for iPhone

With Babelshot, you can take pictures of texts that are written in a foreign languages and translated them into a language of your choice. It utilized sophisticated OCR (Optical Character Recognition) so that you don't need to type the texts. Just shoot the texts and you'll get the translated texts.

Will this app recognize handwriting? Or text over graphics? Or text over various coloured backgrounds? I've found some apps like this only work with typical black text over a plain white background. Ii need something that is a bit more versatile. Any answers are appreciated.

Q1 : is the OCR embedded on the iPhone or do you connect to a Web Service to make the conversion image to english text ?

I have no interest in Translation I just need the best OCR. Will this app properly recognize a page of a book?

It's a nice program... If you aren't trying to translate Jspanese through the camera function as it's not supported. I just wasted a few bucks on it after it boasted it could translate Japanese. Turns out that if the translation is set as source if Jspanese to English, it disables the camera.
