Mary had a little Lamb- the version by Paul Mac Cartney formally of the BEATLES. He recorded this nursery rhyme with his group WINGS to protest the BBC's ban on his earlier songs with political overtones. (eg "give Ireland back to the Irish")
This kiddie sing-a-long is great for adults too, and managed to enter the UK Charts in-spite of the critics.

  • Its not a protest song at all. Its a kiddy song but the way Paul McCartney did it makes me listen to it. And my God, I can't stop thinking about this. Its been on my head all day and thank heavens today was such a fine day. Lala... lalala lala... lalala

  • Odd that you are labeling this a "protest" song. In an October 31, 1964 Bob Dylan concert someone jokingly called out "Mary Had a Little Lamb" as a request and Bob responded,"Good God! Did I record that? Is it a protest song?" Bob would never get around to recording that song but Paul McCartney did!
