Dinosaurs: Fun, Fact, and Fantasy - Part 1/3

A kids' documentary that I got for Christmas in 2nd or 3rd grade. It came in a set of three tapes, two of which I can find. It was advertised on television, I remember, with some really cool commercials that made me want it terribly badly. I assume my parents found it some place because they've never been the types to order crap from the TV.

I guess it's a British production, judging by the voices, the spelling, and the emphasis on Britannia throughout. The program consultant was Dougal Dixon, the crazy "future evolution" guy from one of my Owens/Boardman documentaries, which makes me think less of the work overall.

Of the three tape set this was included in this is the second best. The best tape included material from this video:

But I seem to remember it being longer than 10 minutes, so it must have had some other stuff.

The third tape in the set is a horrid piece of trash that I will post only for the sake of completeness.

This one is narrated by a crocodile puppet, which is hilarious and awesome.

My tape, evidently, did not come with this entire documentary. Another user has posted the whole version and it is a video response to this first part.

I can't tell you how much you've made my life uploading this. I've had these songs struck in my head since I was 5 and I never knew where they came from at a certain part and thought I made it up... thank you for making my childhood alive again <3

A really crappy version of it (like someone recording their television with a hand-held camera) showed up in my recommended videos on my home page about a week ago. Unfortunately I neglected to write down what it was called so I can't find it again.

Thanks for the video. The music still bounces around in my head after seeing these nearly 20 years ago. The images still haunt my dreams (in a good way). Nothing made me as happy as a kid as Dinosaurs.
