I encoded it for HD so hopefully it will look a little better in fullscreen, and I trimmed off the ending to make it a little more dramatic.

No offense towards your friend, but if that's what he got fom this, then he obviously wasn't paying attention, or heard only what he wanted to hear. In that segment when The Dictator (Charlie Chaplin) speaks directly to the solders, he clearly says-
"Soldiers, don't give your self to brutes. Men who despise you...etc."
If he doesn't understand after that, then just smile, tell him he's right, and go about your day.
