Duckweed is the herpes of aquarium plants. Once you get it in your tank, you can't get rid or it. Duckweed is a pain to get out of the tank, but it can also be super helpful. Duckweed and other super fast growing plants can absorb the excess nutrients in your tank. You have been warned though...Duckweed is a pain in the but to get out of your tank.

  • How to get rid of Duckweed: Net all of your stock (the fish), put them in a spare tank, buy a few feeder Goldfish and put them in, after a few days you should have a few fat Goldfish and a Duckweed-free tank, take them out, treat the tank for ich, and return your original stock. Or put a powerhead in the tank, pointing at the surface. Duckweed hates strong current and will not reproduce in such conditions. With no reproduction, you could net all of it and not have a Duckweed explosion later on.

  • where do you get it

  • i dont know how i did it but i went out of town for two weeks , and when i came back my tank was duckweed free

  • you could use a big net and skim it across the surface of the tank... but im not sure.

  • is it bad if it gets in ur power filter i bought a bunch 2 days ago
