@James133335 whenever I jam along with the "Please Please Me" CD, I tune my guitar down. I go to track 11 "Do You Want To Know A Secret" and tune the guitar to the first "Em" chord. I have a feeling that the band tuned their instruments down.

prefectionists note: the Please Please Me version sounds a little flat of 435Hz -- i'm guessing either the tape was slowed a little, or the band tuned to each other rather than a tuner before the takes. Tuning to 433 or 434 matches the record better.
