In this video Eva shows us how to prepare another family favourite: Yiouvarlakia, more commonly known as meatballs with tomato sauce over rice. Like many of Evas recipes, this dish requires only a few simply ingredients and is not overly complicated to make. We hope you enjoy!

  • I'm making this right now. Thanks!

  • thank you i will make this for my family ...

  • Thanks for sharing.....Looks great!!!!

  • @KevinByrne2 Cheers! :-)

There are so many cooking books but 99% of them are in Greek.

    (How typical for Greeks...)

  • @VintageandUsed -- Again, thanks. I'm in your debt. I wish that there were a cookbook on traditional Greek home cooking. It would be nice to enjoy the bright tastes of sunny Greece during the long winter.

  • @KevinByrne2 Not exactly, Youvarlakia have rice inside, like in the meat, Soutzoukakia don't.

This is totally Soutzoukakia with a Youvarlakia touch.

Also, youvarlakia have a round-ball shape, not oval.

  • actually this is NOT youvarlakia but soutzoukakia! still delicious though!

  • @VintageandUsed -- Thank you very much for clarifying what "youvarlakia" is: it is Greek meatballs, which may be used in a soup or simmered in tomato sauce and served with rice, as here.
