**Unpublished Updates 2010**
This video shows improvements made to the DC Office of Planning's multimodal Web map, "DC Walkscape".
In this last video, we provide the user with the ability to analyze the same location in yet another way: access to healthcare. For those who don't currently have health insurance, select 'Public' and the map is queried for low/no cost healthcare options within DC (mostly primary healthcare facilities). For users with insurance, select 'Private', then select your insurance carrier.
For private healthcare locations, we collected location data for all general practitioners by all major health insurance carriers within DC (from each carrier's public Web site). After geocoding these data, we dissolved the individual doctor information into 'Total doctors at this location' and summarized by carrier.
*Note: You may notice that some locations appear even though they fall outside of the walkshed. This is intentional. In testing our application, many users wanted to know what locations were 'just outside' the shaded area. The map does a 1/2 mile query outside of the shaded area to include these extra locations and a process codes them as "More than 15 Minutes"
