for the I just ctrl shift d cut the I and then use the 2nd layer son, don't make another one and try to allign it...pff

In my opinion, it would have looked cooler if you made 2 seperate i's, and they unfolded beside the s to make the n. Very nice, regardless.

A tip I use when animating a single text letter independent from a word is simply duplicating the whole text layer (whole word) and then masking out that one letter, the "I" for instance, and setting it to Subtract, and then copying and pasting that mask onto the duplicate and setting it to Add. Makes it more exact in my sense. Good tut though.
