World renowned historian, Professor Ronald Hutton of Bristol University joins forces with famous Celtic Folk Rock band The Dolmen to read a piece from their innovative English Civil War album, The Crabchurch Conspiracy. He reads an account written by Royalist surgeon, Dr Richard Wiseman telling of how he treated an Irish soldier who had been struck in the head with a cannon shot at the siege of Melcombe in Dorset and how that soldier suffered a hideously painful death.
he is a really lovely soul. A true gentleman.
