NH: Open carriers protest Stop & Shop

Quicker and easier to draw the gun, and can help get cops/people used to citizens with guns being peaceful. When people carry concealed, people aren't aware that people around them are carrying guns and not hurting anyone. The only time they hear about anyone with a gun, it's something bad. Carrying openly lets them see all the people who carry guns but don't hurt anyone.

As you say though, concealed has its own advantages. To each their own.

I, like you, rely on myself. When seconds count, cops take minutes or longer. My state does not allow open carry, I am liscensed to carry CCW and have many hours of formal defensive tactics training and hundreds of hours of practical range experiance. I prefer to carry CCW but there are times when I would carry open if law permitted.

To each his own. To discuss further would be repeating myself.

I really wish citizens could rely on Cops to protect us but you know that's not possible.

Also, I'm not saying no one should own or carry firearms... That is 100% against what I believe.

I do rely on police to protect me, because I am a law enforcement officer, and I protect myself. I have also worked in a prison and see that these criminals don't learn lessons. I support the right to open carry, but I just don't see why people should open carry in heavily populated areas when they could just as easily get a concealed carry permit... If criminals knew that more people were carrying concealed, than would criminals be even more afraid? I'm just trying to understand the benefits.

I don't know...I don't have a criminal mind, It appears that you just want to debate. So for the sake of debate; by carrying a firearm openly, a crime was prevented. If enough trained law abiding citizens excersize their right to carry a firearm, a lot of crime will be deterred. That's good enough for me. You can say "what if" till you're blue, but you won't change that fact.

Look, if you're against it, don't own or carry a firearm...rely on the police to protect you and good luck.

Sure. But then wouldn't he just go to a different store? I doubt seeing one person with a gun on their hip would change them from being a criminal.

Question..would a criminal with intentions of robbery be deterred by the sight of armed man in the business they were preparing to hold up?

Statistics show that criminals are more afraid of an armed citizen that of the police.

I know your trying to make a point and everything but... Why open carry? It is easy to get a concealed carry permit and I believe that it is safer.

When someone open carries, they are letting everyone around them know that it is on their waist. Someone with bad intentions or someone who doesn't know the law could try to take the gun from you and use it against you. I think it is better to keep it concealed and avoid trouble. But, I think you might enjoy the attention. To each his own I suppose.

I do that sometimes ,too;you have to be careful it doesn't go off accidently;;especially when watching computer porn.
