Pirin Mountains, Bansko, Bulgaria a purpose-built ski resort that uniquely for Bulgaria also serves as a working town. As a result, it offers excellent skiing, good quality hotels and a lively après ski with the character and atmosphere of a small Balkan town.

At the end of the day skiers and snowboarders can choose between returning to town on the lift, or skiing down the resorts popular ski road. As a ski centre, it is well known in Bulgaria but just opening up to foreign visitors, one of Banskos most attractive features is the old town, making it a great place to explore after a day on the slopes.

Skiing: Situated at 925m above sea level, Bansko is 25 minutes by high speed gondola lift from the resort's skiing area, comprising 65km of marked ski runs lying at altitudes of between 2,000m and 2,500m. The ski school in Bansko is run by ULEN which has some of Bulgarias best ski instructors and ski equipment, making Bansko a perfect base for first time skiers. Bansko ski runs offer many blue and red runs, suited to intermediate skiers who want to improve their techniques or simply enjoy a challenging day out on the slopes. Advanced skiers will be kept busy with Bansko's red runs and the Albertotomba black run.  The resort is a great place for experienced skiers to learn new techniques.
