This is a test of dynamic hair in Carrara 6.1 Pro. The figure is Aiko 4. I grew the hair on her scalp, then cut and styled it (kind of poorly, but its just a test). Then I animated her tossing her hair back and from side to side. It is not perfect, but I think this shows that Carrara is capable of turning out a pretty good product.

  • i swing my hair back and forth.

  • @Trokolol There you go. Validation of the deep level or realism in my animation. ;-)

  • ok, that sucks, the hair doesnt go along with gravity at all, and some hairs just appear and dissapear like magic lol

  • @maximopetar Yeah, that was an early experiment. Carrara can do better than that.

  • Does Carrara keep the figures rigging. So if I imported V4, would she still be pose-able as if I was using Daz studio or Poser please?

Then I just add some hair and style it, and away I go for a short animation...?

  • @loveablemoggy I'm sorry I never responded to this. Yes, Carrara uses Poser figures just the same way DAZ Studio does. Import it and pose it.

Adding hair is easy, but styling is harder. Once you add hair, it is ready for a short animation. Making a really good animation takes more time, though. Doing what I did here is pretty easy. :-)

  • @loveablemoggy Oh, I see now that I had already responded. The comment layout is confusing.
