If your doing a local gig, watch out for greedy cops and mayors, you will never win. You don't give them that bribe they will harass you to the point you leave town, if you pay it they will just keep coming back for more, you can't win.

I agree fue is one of the main kickers, along with maintenance work at $95 per hour, I now use my truck to haul my RV for R&R. and still fuel and maintenance is high, a trucker can never win.

The fuel is way too expensive, brokers are thieves, other owner/ operators will undercut you, the DOT cops will violate your civil & constitutional rights with constant harassment(NO PROBABLE CAUSE OR REASONABLE SUSPICION NEEDED), the US DOT will charge you for every little permit(s) & or protocol procedure, parts & maintenance are way too expensive.....it never end......too many hands in our pockets....including the DMV....
