Replacing door trim - Andy Bell of Handyman Matters shows us how pet damage can cause the door trip to become damaged resulting in replacement of door trim. First cut the trim away from the drywall, but be very careful not to remove any texture or cut the actual drywall. You want to make sure you get the caulking cut. Simple sets of tools can get this job finished and to measure for the new trim use the actual damaged piece to ensure that it is exact length. This can be considered a medium to high skill level because the 45 degree angle at the top of the door needs to match up perfectly and if the trim needs stain mistakes cannot be covered up.
