Race-bred and highly-evocative, this rare and mighty Bentley 8-Litre was an incredible "supercar" for its time, capable of speeds over 100 mph. This particular example is one of only 100 built and powered by a 220 hp in-line six-cylinder with dual SU carbs and single over head cam. Clothed in a Vanden Plas style dual cowl tourer body by Wallis, this car is simply a pleasure to own, and drive. RM Auctions is pleased to present this car along with over 175 others at its Sports and Classics of Monterey to be held August 15 & 16, 2008 in the Portola Hotel & Spa and Monterey Conference Center. Does he mean 100 8 litres or 100 open tourers. Shame so many of the 8 litres got vdp couchwork in the 80s when they were originally metal. supremely handsom cars.
Wow. What a machine!!! I'd sell my house and live in the car. Now all I have to do is get my wife to agree. BTW, I recognize the voice over but can't think of his name - anyone else know?
