I don't get it. It just looks like a weird dual overhead cam inline 4-stroke... how is this different?

193hp@6500rpm and 212 ft-lb. torque @3000rpm from a turbocharged 1.2-liter engine. And add to that 40% less fuel consumption than a typical engine with the same amount of power. Quite impressive.

They are the same thing (rocker arms). The only difference is whether the pivot point is in the middle of the rocker arm or to one end of it.

The question actually ought to be why not ROLLER rockers. The friction is worse than with bucket tappets under cam because the rocker arm acts as a lever in favor of the valve return spring, granting it mechanical advantage over the camshaft. Unless the pivot point is in the middle of the rocker arm and both its arms are equal.

That's simply bullshit. Engine balance with a 3 pot inline is worse than with a 4 pot inline.
