She doesn't copy rihanna as this sounds nothing like any of her songs
She puts the accent on because she is Hawaiin and is trying sing in that Caribbean style
Her lyrics might not be the best in this song but its catchy, and that's what the song is meant to be like. She has plenty of other soulfull and meaningfull songs on her album.
The video is beautifully done and shows nicoles Hawaiin side
