At the King Soopers in Brighton, Colorado, Rep. Ed Perlmutter held one of his Government at Your Grocery events where throngs of supporters showed up to push for health insurance reform, but a hard core of right wingers including Minutemen showed up. Reformers vastly outnumbered disruptors, but this video shows some of the more colorful signage and rhetoric from both sides. Please forgive my shaky videography. My monopod broke early on, so it was handheld from there.
Quotables and Notables:
"He will ram it down your throat and shove it up your butt and you'll like it" -- one of the people carrying a Minutemen flag
The woman accompanying the Minutemen was actually wearing an Americans for Prosperity t-shirt.
The single loudest, most persistent disruption came from a single individual. He is very agitated that Ed Perlmutter does not represent him when, in fact, Ed Perlmutter does not represent him. His congressman is Doug Lamborn, as he lives two congressional districts over in Colorado Springs.
And this was true with the bulk of the disruptors. Many if not most were from other districts. As am I, but I did not stand in line screaming my head off, blocking people from seeing their Congressman.
At the end, half an hour longer than scheduled, Rep. Perlmutter used a bullhorn to thank the remaining people, and you can still hear the same individual actually screaming louder than the bullhorn.
And then as a reminder that this crowd consisted mainly of reform supporters, a pan shot of the crowd.
Why is there only older white people there? Oh thats right.........

You forgot to mention that the AFL-CIO showed up with thier prefessionaly made signs. You know, the ones that had AFL-CIO printed across the bottom. You also forgot to mention that he changed the rules for this half an hour before it started. You were supposed to have 5 mintues with Perlmutter 1 on 1. You ended up with 5 people getting 7 minutes at a time.

What we need is flat-rate no-limit primary care, it doesn't involve the government or insurance and everyone will agree on it. Just google it. It's the best solution where the doctors and patients alone are in charge to make the right decisions without insurance OR government interference.
