Another track from Blakey's "A Night In Tunisia". I always felt that this song seemed slightly out of place on this album due to the fast paced nature of the rest of the songs on the album, but I love it still the same. As usual, I hope you enjoy it, and if you do, please feel free to rate/comment.

  • I never understood why this joint is not well known. It's one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever

  • You are right, an atypical tune and therefore one of my favourites, I´ve been looking for it for quite some time. Morgan is said to have dedicated to his Japanese wive Kiko Yamamoto. Thanks for posting!

  • A beautiful piece that led me to explore more of Lee Morgan's work (the composer), I wasn't disappointed.

  • thank you!

  • The more I listen to Art Blakey, the more I'm forced to re-consider what I think are "essential" jazz recordings. "Kind of Blue" used to be my default recommendation for newbies, bur after hearing "Drum Suite" I've been forced to re think that default position. "Motherfucker" comes to mind every time I listen to Art Blakey and his band of accomplices. This music is SO "Jazz". It practically leaves a stain.

  • this is awesome!!but Cubano Chant is pretty awesome too

  • this is awesome!!

  • Great piece from a great band !!
