  • I am from Argentina and in the Scottish Guard of Buenos Aires. We would like to know what chances we have to put one or two onboard for the A nniversary in 2013.If there is any cost let me know it.With my best regards. Carlos Bernard

  • yeah right they did it and then had to disassemble the brakes, clean all the salt off Cry a while get out a fat wallet and drain and change the axle gear oil and who knows whatever. My dad used to buy the Dukw transfer case which is lightweight and makes a tough in and out disengage and engage for winch trucks.

  • My old man was an RN rating on assualt landing craft at Arromanches lost 4 craft out of his small flottila of 10 but lost even more (6 & their troops 216 men) a few months later landing on the forgotten (by many) invasion of the Walchren Islands in the Antwerp approaches with the PBI being slaughtered on the dyke tops

  • My self and some friends in a DUKW joined an armada of WWII vehicles to celebrate the 30th aniversary of D-Day in 1974.

With Martin Young a BBC presenter & film crew, we re-enacted an actual landing on 'Gold' beach with 6 veterans of the actual 1945 landing. The film was shown on BBC news before we arrived home in the UK. The whole Normady tour was absolutely unbelievable, with so many unforgetable experiences and events.

I would dearly like to see the original BBC newsreel film.

    Railmon.

  • DUKW signifie:

    D: année de construction: 1942.

    U: Utility (amphybious).

    K: toutes roues motrices.

    W: deux esssieux arrières moteurs.
