+P means Over Pressured which means more gun powder than normal. Great Video, I carry a Glock 23 loaded with Federal 180 grain HST's.

@CreazioniPinnacolo under penetration and jacket seperation are the main causes of handgun bullet failure. Id go with a 165 - 180 grain (im assuming your talking about a .40 cal). the heavier bullets also have less "snap" and more of a "push" in the recoil, which makes follow up shots faster Lighter bullets have higher velocity and energy which looks good on paper, but they bleed that energy more quickly, like when hitting bone, and might not have enough energy to do work deeper in the body.

@theMozambiquedrill they have it in .40 and 9. sgammo usually has it, though the 45 acp sells VERY fast.

Okay I'm tired of redneck shooting water jugs..... Why don't you shoot your leg and see which bullet goes deeper.... now that would me interesting

@armenianesh818 Plus pressure. There is higher pressures in a plus P round than a regular one. This will of course make a bullet hit harder. There is +P and from what i understand there is +P+ that the law enforcement used to use. Like the would run .38 special +P+ in a 357 magnum revolver. .38 special +P+ is still lower pressures than 357 mag. So the frame and other parts can in fact handle it.

@stradawhovious Damn really? I just picked up the same box of 50 for 21$ all day at my local gunshop/shooting range.... guess I'm just lucky? They have speer fmj for the range...9.50 for 50, I thought that was a steal also for practice at the range :) AWESOME video too, thannks for posting! thumbs up!

I just read an article in a magazine about an officer using a corbon in his .45acp and there were problems with penetration. I don't own a .45 (yet), but I'll skip the corbon for sure.

what does +P stand for?
so you base this off of 1 round....wow

@kilog55 Base what? I merely posted an observation. If you came to any conclusions from this, it's your doing, not mine.
Feel free to read the description in the video that clearly states that this isn't a scientific test, merely an observation. Thanks for clicking, and have a nice day! :)

I bought 2 boxes of the HST+P at a gun show for $20/box of 50, EXCELLENT ammo! I never did any tests with it, but could tell it was a REALLY good bullet design and nice power too, can't beat it for the price. I blew up a bowling pin with 1 round, pretty impressive, lol. I usually use Cor-bon for self defense, but after watching your video I just may switch to using the HST +P ammo, just wish they made it in .40 and 9mm too.

I will hve to disagree on the bowling pin part..... This round will NOT dismantle a bowling pin with one round. During a pin match, I watched pins absorb round after round of this stuff, in addition to full-house .44 mag soft point loads. It is impressive, but not magical. Thanks for the apporval of the video though! And if you can get that deal on a regular basis, stock up. that's the cheapest I have ever seen this ammo go for.
