At the 8th Annual Northeastern U. S. Conference on disAbility a Home Town Meeting was held featuring a panel discussion of the healthcare reforms proposed by President Obamas administration and their potential impact on the transition from school to community life for students with disabilities. U.S. Senator Robert P. Casey participated via video teleconference from his office in Washington, D.C.
The conference, presented by The University of Scrantons J.A. Panuska, S.J., College of Professional Studies and the Edward R. Leahy, Jr., Endowment, was held on Oct. 7, 2009 in the DeNaples Center at the University. The conference featured scholarly papers, professional presentations and the opportunity to network on the timely and pivotal theme: Transition: Today, Tomorrow, Together.
