This film captures our family's trip to see the Easter 1981 'Misteri' procession and re-enactment of Jesus's life and death through the town of Marsala in the Trapani province of Sicily. The procession still occurrs every Easter, as does the 4-day Misteri event in Trapani - which is far more well known than Marsala's mobile street theatrics show here.
Watch out for a fleeting glimpse of Marsala's 'Banda Musicale di Santa Cecilia' towards the end. Originally filmed by my dad on Kodachrome Super 8 and recently transferred to digital by me. The music is 'Chi Mai' by Ennio Morricone and was also added by me.
