Vanessa isn't a bad singer, her voice just wasn't made for a part like this. Even her acting isn't made for a role like this. When I watch her, I'm very aware she's playing a character, rather than being engrossed in the musical.

@tamarajoy06 It's called autotune and they overuse it in HSM, glee, all that stuff. This is what she ACTUALLY sounds like; no help from electronic equipment.

She was off pitch a lot during "Out Tonight", but "Another Day" wasn't too bad. I think she can sing, there's just something she does with her voice that's...odd. It's not necessarily a bad or good thing. I still like her because of HSM, but she wasn't as bad in Rent as everyone is putting her out to be.
