@peterlabrie1 And I'll be honest about it, when I first became a Christian, I attempted desperately to listen to contemporary Christian all the time and fit that stereotypical Christian mold... And it failed miserably. I do listen to contemporary occasionally, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't lead me into worship the way stuff like HB does. It's the words that make the difference. The words decide who you're praising, because they come from the heart.

@peterlabrie1 And that's true, but you do realize that MANY things in this world are given over to worshiping satan, right? When I found out, it was shocking. The overwhelming majority of things in our culture are given to satan worshiping, and you don't necessarily have to say "hail satan" to worship him, as I'm sure you're well aware. Yet those things are being taken from that realm and are being used to worship God and draw people to the Gospel now.

@UnderoathHasMyBrain i love this style of music. dont get me wrong. im just concerned because this style of metal has its roots in worshiping satan for a fact. i was in a metal band myself if you can see if you go to my page so i understand were your comming from. i still hold to the firm belief that music should be sanctified to the Lord, but i am not legalistic in any way shape or form. so- if you dont feel convicted listening to this style of music then glorify God in it with all your soul!

@UnderoathHasMyBrain And I mean, you could say that about basically any modern genre of music. You could argue that contemporary Christian is too much like soft rock, so it's of the devil. You could argue that gospel music is too much like R&B, therefore it's of the devil. You could argue that Gregorian chant is too creepy, therefore it's of the devil. You could even argue that because a barbecue grill has fire in it, it's from hell. Really? God looks at the heart, not at the outside.
