  • hey thanka for the info and the new video! i love to hear those whistles blow!!! just a quick question, on a typical morning warmup, do they blow all 3? or just all 3 upon request? i might head up there for a morning warmup before the fall cruises start!

  • Yes they do that every morning, all three whistles. If your lucky the engineer will give nice long blasts. One of them does but the other just toots them for a second each. If you wanna go check it out get there by 9am. They usually test them around 9:15-9:20ish.

  • Hey Mets Fan, Im a Mets fan as well by the way! I actually have another video and will put it up shortly. The engineer blows the big whistle and then the middle whistle nice and long then a short toot on the 3 bell lunkenheimer. Hope you like it. Also next time your there, you can try asking one of the captains before you board on the cruise if they can use all of the whistles during the cruise. They might do that for you, they are all very nice people.

  • Hey, Maybe its my camera? However I also remember it being louder when I was a kid but everything seems grander and louder when your a kid. My favorite whistle is the top one which is not blown in this video. I have a video of that one too. :)

  • hey cleannewyork. this might be a little too much to ask so im sorry if it is,but if you ever could, would you be able to get another video of the 3 chime while not underneath it on a cruise? i love the echo on the mountains. and possibly the smaller whistle being used on a cruise one day too? Im up there frequently and i always try to get a video of the other ones but they always use the large one!

Oh and many cameras seem to dull the whistle down on here. Maybe thats just my opinion but yeah.

  • i remember when that deep steamwhistle used to be way louder then that it seems they toned it down a bit
