This is a video I made of myself, upon the suggestion of my teacher, in order to pinpoint some of the errors I make in my playing! For example, it's become apparent that I have a very closed/flat left wrist, and a very high left thumb; two problems I'd like to try and sort by my conservatoire auditions next week :O
I also have some awesome facial expressions 8D
It's been made in preparation for said auditions.

  • you need to fix your bow hold!! as soon as possible. Take more care in your playing. Try and create a work of are rather than just hacking at it.

  • @smarttams Thanks, I certainly see what you mean. I'm happy to report that my bow-hold has been 100% fixed in the last year... and I'd like to think I've developed a little more refinement in my playing, too!

  • This is so good! I'm playing this now for school. The double stop passage was amazing! The shift for the double stop from first to third position was really great! 2:32-3:02 is such an awkward passage but you handled it very well. Great job!

  • @NoGoodDeedWilliDo11 Thanks very much! Are you performing this piece with an orchestra, then? :O

  • tocadores de notas hay muchos...

    no tienes nada de tecnica!

primero mejora tu tecnica i despues si eso ponte a tocar piezas mas faciles ( de tu nivel)

  • @saraa272 Babelfish translates what I presume is Spanish:

"note dressing tables there are many you do not have anything of technique! first improvement your technique i later if that ponte to touch easy pieces but (of your level)" /// now whilst I'm sure the literal translation isn't quite on the mark, I can get the gist. So - from the looks of things - NICE TROLL

  • great audio quality!

  • Tone is great, despite the audio of this video is a little wack. You should put up another video sometime. :) - I'm doing this piece for one of my college auditions this year.

  • its ok but the qualiti is bad .like my english:(

  • your bow is way to far away from the bridge

  • Love that hat Tim :) We should upload some Bartok on NYO :P See you soon :)

  • Excellent, just one thing you should keep in mind is to keep your bow tightly onto the strings. When I played this for state, it was one of the biggest things the judge said was important about this song (also keep in mind your vibrato width/speed)

    5/5

  • That's good. As soon as I learn the first movement a little better I'll post up a video of myself playing it so that you can then comment on my playing. I think my bow hold also needs a little more work... on another note: does anyone have any tips for learning a lot of music in a short space of time?
