To dantheman513: I have never read a more insensitive comment on YouTube, and that covers some ground. Quasthoff is a testament to artistry and perseverance. I'm a lyric baritone, and trust me, this man is a great artist!! I cannot begin to understand or fully appreciate what he has had to overcome. Ultimately, your comment demeans neither the man nor his gift. It speaks volumes about you, however. And to think you posted your comment twice! Shame on you.

I fancy myself something of a 'jazz guy,' inherently musical and harboring a deep sensitivity to and appreciation of the music and its heritage. This being said, I am moved and rather awed by Thomas Quasthoff in this performance. I adore him in Schubert and Schumann and presently I am just blown the hell out of the stream. Truly, a remarkable musician.
