  • this is not aikido its used in Judo, ju-juitsu, and chinses arts such as Wing chun

  • @couldronofcats this is aikido but and there are elements of some of the other martial arts

  • @zeljko485 This is definetely Aikido. You are right! I've been practicing Aikido for a while and I can tell you for sure.

  • @holderlindediotima yes.. aikidoka can recognize Aikido in my video :)

  • @couldronofcats the first technique was shiho nage, which is used in aikido. it's just a different variation. Also, there's a massive amount of hip throw variations in aikido, like koshinage, which have many variations- sometimes looking like a judo throw

  • @KurtCobain198666 yes dude :)

  • In essence Aikido is still Jujutsu in that it share the basic root principles of Ju or Aiki if you want. Aikido differ more in philosophy than in technique. Atemi is used as a faint or a dovetail to lead and control the opponent into a throw that comes from Jujutsu; Aiki Jujutsu. It is still Aiki Jujutsu with a difference in philosophy. Those who knock Aikido are purely ignorant. It is in essence a Samurai Art that was proven on the battlefield.

  • for all of you who says that this is not aikido, a little advice, don't put stuped comments, this is REAL AIKIDO, it is based on aikido, judo, ju-juitsu... etc...

  • @KurtCobain198666 Bruce Lee doesn´t “invent” counterstriking. Boxing did 100 year before, and pankration 3000 years ago.You said very well: launches are "similar" to the aikido. But really, are tipically JuJutsu or Judo. Some AK throwing techs are really "similar" to jujutsu or judo ones, but not equal. AK practitioners that have visited a Judo dojo are very well aware that are "similar" but not the same. The differences between these are often well marked in their backs.

  • @KurtCobain198666 The first technique is tipically Ude Garami, because acts against the elbow without trowing (“nage” is throwing, garami is simply a lock). Shiho Nage is another type of Ude Garami, generally used to throw.

  • @KurtCobain198666 Atemi is a great word, not the minimal expression that is reduced in aikido. Furthermore, the striking form of aikido that is shown in almost videos and training in the AK dojos only could work against ignorants. Boxers, karate or TKD guys laughs respect this. And nobody, really nobody attack like an aikido Uke. It is simply ridiculous. To be honest.

  • @KurtCobain198666 All that you say about striking to distract and to enter in the ma-ai and irimi - tenkan, entering to a blind point, etc. seems razonably, and I agree 100%. But you don´t understand this point: I can´t agree with the fogsellers that pretend, in hundreds and hundreds videos, show an incredible choreo as a martial art, or as a real self defence procedure.

  • @rdgonzalez1000 I think as a martial artist you should comprehend atemi. If you're counter striking a person to the throat and solur plexus, as taught in aikido, tell me why you couldnt get into a position to overpower the attacker. Striking to distract is a princible used in JKD, Judo,Jujutsu etc, so it's very effective. It's very easy to enter in to a position of control, as long as you know the princible of ma'ai and irimi, which quite basic. To be honest, you seem ignorant.

  • @rdgonzalez1000 You do know what atemi is right? Counter striking? The same idea the Bruce Lee incorporated into JKD. Stating that you've got belts in this or that doesn't mean anything on here, does it? So that point is mute. Every single technique in the video is aikido: The first (0:11) is shiho nage for example. You do realise aikido comes from jujutsu, hence why the throws look similar?

  • @KurtCobain198666 In conclussion: in general this is not aikido. A real contest demonstrates that when you faced with an strong, determined and violent aggressor is very difficult to apply classic aikido, unless you have a physical advantage in your favor. If you try to adapt the aikido to do what is shown in the video, then that is no longer aikido, but Judo, Ju Jutsu or MMA. I apologize for dissent with your point of view. Greetings
