That sucks! I don't think I could ever part with the WEM, no matter how tough things got (and they're pretty tough atm to be fair, two bicycles and the car have already gone...). It's totally irreplaceable!
On a cheerier note, that is a beautiful guitar, and next on my list. Now just to find whatever else can go on evilbay...

A Super Starfinder cab with original Fane speakers...

@littlefury Awesome! I have a dominator Mk3 (which apparently Marshall ripped off to make the Bluesbreaker) which I modded to power a starfinder cab. I've never seen anyone gig with a WEM before (other than in a video of Free from the 70s). They are AMAZING amps. How long have you had yours?

Thanks! Watkins did make amazing gear in the 60s and 70s. Pink Floyd used WEM equipment extensively back in the day, you can see the amps and cabinets on the back-cover of the Ummagumma album, Led Zeppelin used WEM PA systems on satge, there's a video showing it on one of their recently released DVDs. I believe The WHO used them for some time as well.
I bought the Super Starfinder cab and an ER100 head in a music store selling used equipment. It was in the Paris Suburbs in 2001.

Unfortunately, hard times led me to part with the WEM stack last year. I still have a Watkins MK2 valve-copicat which I love.
FYI, the Dominator was ripped off by Marshall to design their 1974X, also called mini-bluesbreaker. The "classic" Bluesbreaker's schematic is originally a copy of the Fender Bassman. It works with different power tubes than the Dominator / 1974X (EL84) whereas the original BB uses KT66 and the reissue is powered by 5881s.

In a guitar amp store in Paris, France, 10 years ago.
The shop is called "l'Ampli à Lampes" (the Tube Amp).
