I have the exactly same problem on my htc touch hd, what have i to do pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaase ?????

I solved this issue opening my HTC and reconnecting one of the samall cables, the problem was with that small wires, it was not connected proprerly. I am not sure it that wire was the wifi wire, but that solved the problem. You could find documentation in internet to open your HTC. Note: I did it in the HTC diamond.

la soluzione è facile, basta smontare il telefono, non tutto il telefono, solo la parte dove si trova la sim, dietro la sim si trova lo slot del display, e come succede in molti htc diamond questo slot tende a staccarsi, quindi per risolvere il problema basta attaccare di nuovo lo slot.
